Victoria von Vee is a beautiful 9 year old German Shepherd. Per her own words, "Hi, my name is Victoria. I heard the volunteers say that Victoria is a pretty name for a pretty girl but, truth be told, I don't feel so pretty at all. You see, for 9 years I loved and protected my family, only to get discarded like trash when I got older and less beautiful. The volunteers here love me so much, but it is not the same as having my own home. Some adopters are scared off by my age, but did you know that senior dogs are sometimes the best dogs? For example, I am fully housebroken and never destructive in the house or yard. Digging? Chewing? That's not an activity for a dignified girl like me. I walk like a professional on leash and know all my basic commands; after all, I have had 9 years to learn how to be the perfect dog! I am lower energy and if you are busy, I am perfectly happy just taking a short walk around the neighborhood. But I am always up for some fun too! I still love to play and I still perk up every time you say we are going to the park! I am confident in my own skin and meet other dogs perfectly on leash. My favorite activity in the world? I have a long list! I really like to cuddle; I love watching TV with you; and I would be thrilled to sit next to you at Sunday brunch or coffee at Starbucks. They put me in a doggy playgroup and said I was very well-behaved. I said hi to my friends in there and then I just sniffed the yard and returned to my humans for affection. I prefer to leave the rough-play to the younger pups, and hope that they don't get too pushy with me. In typical shepherd fashion, I can get protective of you when strangers come into the house, but show me that you accept them and I will too. If you look past my age, you will realize that I am the perfect dog all around. I hope you will give me a chance and ask to meet me when you come down. (Oh! I also did well on my first cat test).
